Gwen is a Managing Director and Private Wealth Advisor who has earned national recognition. In 2019, The Financial Times named Gwen as one of the Top 400 Financial Advisors in America*, and Forbes named Gwen as a Top Advisor in the Bay Area in its State by State rankings*. Barron’s magazine also previously named Gwen one of the Top 100 Women Financial Advisors in America*, and profiled her in its magazine. The San Francisco Business Times has twice profiled Gwen as a top advisor to ultra-affluent clients in the Bay Area. Most recently, Gwen was named as 2019 Forbes Top Women Wealth Advisor*.
Gwen began her financial services career at Goldman Sachs where she worked for over twelve years across the Investment Banking, Equity Derivatives, and Private Wealth Management Divisions. As a banker in Mergers and Acquisitions, Gwen advised CEOs and founders on the sale of companies. In Equity Derivatives, Gwen worked on the trading desk advising institutional investors on macroeconomic investments; she was also responsible for advice on macroeconomic trends across US, Europe, and Asia. In 1997, Gwen joined Goldman’s Private Wealth Management division, where she advised company founders, entrepreneurs, venture capitalists and private equity partners on wealth management.
Gwen has been with Merrill Private Wealth Management for over a decade serving as a trusted advisor to clients on all aspects of their financial lives and developing long term relationships with clients and their families. Her advice is highly customized for each client’s objectives.
Gwen graduated Phi Beta Kappa from the University of Pennsylvania with a dual degree. She holds a B.S. in Finance from the Wharton School and a B.A. in European History from the College of Arts and Sciences. Penn awarded her the Alfred A. Berg Award for Academic and Extracurricular Achievement. She served as the Chair of the Student Committee on Undergraduate Education and served on the Council of Undergraduate Deans. She earned her M.B.A. from Harvard Business School.
Gwen has served on several national boards, including the of University of Pennsylvania Trustees’ Council of Penn Women and on the Executive Advisory Board of FIRST, which promotes the study of math and science through robotics competitions. Gwen also served on the Board of Girls, Inc. of Alameda County.
