As our client, you will work with a highly experienced and rigorously trained Merrill Private Wealth Management team who strive to gain a deep understanding of your goals and values and provide access to the banking capabilities of Bank of America and the investing capabilities of Merrill to help provide appropriate solutions designed to help you pursue your financial goals.

John joined Merrill in 2009 and is currently a Private Wealth Advisor within Merrill Private Wealth Management. He began his career in financial services at Bernstein Global Wealth Management in the Private Client business where he worked with a number of ultra-affluent client across several industries.
John advises Senior Corporate Executives, closely held business owners, and ultra-affluent families about multiple facets of their financial lives. He provides access to the wide ranging capabilities within Merrill to provide a process driven strategy to help business owners prepare for and execute a Liquidity event. He also works with C-Suite executives to manage Concentrated Stock and execute diversification strategies available to Section 16 insiders.
John is a member of the Advisory Council for the Business School at Stephen F. Austin State University, Klein Education Foundation, Big Brothers/Big Sisters of Houston and he chairs the Finance Committee at John Wesley United Methodist Church.
With over 18 years of investment experience, Malia is a Private Wealth Advisor at Merrill Private Wealth Management. Malia began her career as an investment associate at a major brokerage firm before joining Merrill in 2006, where she became a Financial Advisor. She then successfully completed the Private Wealth Advisor assessment; demonstrating a proficiency in wealth transfer, concentrated stock strategies and asset management. Malia holds the Certified Investment Management Analyst (CIMA) designation sponsored by the Investments & Wealth Institute™ (The Institute) at the Wharton School of Business. She is also a Certified Divorce Financial Analyst, CDFA professional, a Sports & Entertainment Accredited Wealth Management Advisor, SE-AWMA designee, a Chartered Retirement Planning Counselor, CRPC designee, and is a member of the Investments & Wealth Institute™ (The Institute). She has been designated as a Senior Portfolio Manager within Merrill's Investment Advisory Program and leads the business development efforts for her team. A Senior Portfolio Manager can help clients pursue their objectives by managing on a discretionary basis her own Personalized or Defined Strategies, which may incorporate individual stocks and bonds, Merrill model portfolios, and third-party investment strategies. A Senior Portfolio Manager may make their strategies available to clients working with other Merrill Advisors. She is also a frequent guest speaker at industry conferences, and has been a featured presenter at symposiums hosted by Forbes, Barron’s, Standard & Poor’s/Dow Jones, and State Street Global Advisors.
Malia graduated from Stanford University in Palo Alto, California, with dual Bachelor’s degrees in Political Science and Communication with an emphasis in Media Technology & Psychology. Active in her community, she is an advocate for the Child Rescue Coalition nonprofit organization. In this role, Malia directed and produced a documentary to raise awareness for the abuse, exploitation and trafficking of young children. She continues to be an active member of the Stanford Alumni Career Network. Tyler has worked at Merrill for more than a decade, and is primarily responsible for relating with the individuals and families we serve. He works closely with clients to simplify the complexities associated with substantial wealth. Aligning the management of portfolios with the purpose of their wealth, Tyler and his team connect Entrepreneurs, Corporate Executives, and Multi-Generational Families with the resources to help meet their needs.
Tyler earned his Business degree from Baylor University and holds the Chartered Financial Analyst designation, awarded by the CFA Institute. He is involved in his community and has served as an advisor to the Houston House Foundation for the Ronald McDonald House of Houston. Joe is an accredited Private Wealth Advisor. His focus on the team is portfolio construction and management. Prior to joining Merrill Private Wealth Management in 2007, Joe was the lead equity manager and the head of the Houston office of Bank of America Private Bank(formerly U.S. Trust Co.). Before joining the Private Bank in 1996, he worked at another trust company for nine years as the chief domestic equity portfolio manager. Joe holds the Chartered Financial Analyst® (CFA®) designation. Joe is a specially qualified Senior Portfolio Manager who, in addition to providing traditional advice and guidance, can help clients pursue their objectives by building and managing his own personalized or defined strategies, which may incorporate individual stocks and bonds, Merrill model portfolios and third-party investment strategies. Senior Portfolio Managers are provided a high degree of flexibility in constructing portfolios and selecting securities. When servicing clients through the firm’s Investment Advisory Program, a Senior Portfolio Manager may manage his strategies on a discretionary basis. After meeting certain additional requirements, a Senior Portfolio Manager may use his own strategies to manage the assets of other Merrill advisors’ clients. He earned a bachelor’s degree in economics and history from The University of the South and an MBA with honors from The University of Chicago Graduate School of Business. He is on the board of Cho-Yeh Camp and Conference Center and has previously served as chairman of the board for the Texas Presbyterian Foundation.
Jeremi has over 20 years of experience with Merrill, having started with the Firm in 1997. His primary responsibilities as a member of Tactical Associates is client relationship management, portfolio management and trading and maintaining the team’s various custom strategies. He also assists the Private Wealth Advisors with client review process and providing clients with personal investment support, including trading, research and portfolio oversight. Jeremi holds the Accredited Asset Management Specialist designation.
Mack began his career with Merrill in 2006 as a financial advisor and worked in global wealth management, where he focused on investment management and risk mitigation services.
Joining Tactical Associates in 2014, Mack now works directly with ultra-high-net-worth clients on portfolio construction, account reviews and relationship management. He takes a highly customized approach to addressing the investment needs of ultra-affluent clients, sensitive to their risk parameters, personal aspirations, lifestyle needs, and long-term goals. He is skilled in diverse markets across multiple asset classes, encompassing both domestic and international markets, as well as traditional and alternative instruments. He is responsible for performance analysis, capital markets execution, investment manager evaluation, and alternative investment tracking.
Mack received his Bachelor’s Degree from the University of Houston’s C.T. Bauer School of Business. He also holds the Certified Private Wealth Advisor® (CPWA®) certification, administered by Investments & Wealth Institute and taught in conjunction with The University of Chicago Booth School of Business.

Victor joined Merrill as a Financial Analyst in 2012. Prior to joining Merrill, Victor worked at a major brokerage firm in New York and also at a global investment management firm. In his previous roles, he focused on firm business development, product sales, and research. As a Private Wealth Senior Investment Manager for Tactical Associates, his efforts concentrate on investment research and analysis, manager due diligence, and portfolio performance tracking. Conducting both macroeconomic and investment-oriented research, he assists the team with its proprietary and client-specific financial strategies. Victor received his Bachelor’s degree from the University of Houston’s C.T. Bauer College of Business. He enjoys cycling with his wife and is an active marathon runner.
Phil has 30 years of investment experience and has been with Merrill since 1988. As managing partner and lead strategist for Tactical Associates, his primary focus is on the development and oversight of several proprietary quantitative investment models available within the firm’s Investment Advisory Program. As a Senior Portfolio Manager, he designs and manages customized portfolios for many of the firm’s Ultra High Net Worth clients and also manages client portfolios for over 600 Merrill Advisors across the country. Katelyn has over 7 years of experience in the client service industry. She graduated from Loyola University in 2016 with a degree in Strategic Communication, with an emphasis in Advertising & Marketing. Having been in the wealth management industry for over two years, Katelyn recently became a member of Tactical Associates in 2020, a prestigious group within Merrill’s Private Wealth Management division.
Dolores has 35 years of experience with Merrill, and started with the firm in 1980. She serves as the lead client service associate for Tactical Associates, and focuses on the administration and maintenance of client accounts. Dolores supports the team’s private wealth advisors in wealth transfer events and securities transfers, and serves as the team’s administrative liaison with Bank of America Private Bank(formerly US Trust) for trust and private banking services.
